Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
— 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
You have likely heard the phrase, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”
But what does that mean, exactly?
Simply put, if something sounds so amazing that it’s hard to believe it’s true, then it is almost assuredly false. This adage has certainly been proved many times over the years, especially on the internet. However, as implied in the statement itself, there are some notable exceptions, such as heaven, the gospel, and God’s love for us.
However, there are some who want the world to believe in another exception to this idiom. These are the people behind what is called The Telepathy Tapes. They would like us to fully embrace what they are proclaiming, which is that a certain group of young individuals hold the keys to a “mind-blowing” future for all of humanity. And further, that the fulfillment of the world-altering promises hinge on all of us believing in these children, and embracing the messages they are trumpeting.
Messages From God?
Released in September of 2024, The Telepathy Tapes is a ten part series produced by Ky Dickens, an award-winning documentary maker. Not only did TTT quickly rise in popularity, it went on to become the number one podcast in the world.
So, what should we do whenever we come across an idea or promise that seems too good to be true? We need to exercise our discernment and test it as much as we can, especially according to God’s written Word.
If the claims in The Telepathy Tapes are true, then the whole world would be profoundly improved in a relatively short amount of time. However, if the assertions and teachings of these tapes are false, they pose a huge danger to everyone, especially the vulnerable children involved.
With so much at stake, along with the real potential for either incredible blessing or devastating harm, it was imperative to conduct a thorough, biblical examination of this growing movement showcased in the popular podcast. And what we found was truly shocking.

While it is vital to understand the specific assertions in TTT, there is a much bigger picture overall for biblical believers. Accordingly, Testing The Telepathy Tapes is more about becoming equipped in God’s Word—and growing in how to biblically test and discern everything, just as God exhorts us to do.
